No. Because every civilisation has its own version of the fortune tellers, the crones, the villiage healers etc. so it really depends on what your definition of Witch is. If it is the neo- one then witches ahve only been around for a few decades, but yes I guess they originated and are widespread in England. But if you are talking witches as in the midwives herbalists, wise women villiage healers etc, then what I said above applies. If its niether then I can't help you.
