darvocet is narcotic gesic which means that it has a combination of aspirin and an opiate based drug. it is mainly aspirin but still narcotic. it is safe to cut it in half because it is not timed released. a lot of people that have trouble with vicodin can tolerate darvocet. it is milder. if you want to properly dispose of the remaining pills then take them to a pharmacy. hope this helps
