Dibenzalacetone synthesis!?

i combined 2mL benzaldehyde with .75mL acetone and stirred inside 10mL ethanol and 10mL 3 M NaOH for a half hour and i got a sort of white-yellow cloudy precipitate. i was expecting yellow crystals. i don't know what i did wrong, or maybe if its fine and that's what's supposed to happen.
